Private Classes or Group Classes

How do I choose between Private Pilates Classes and Group Pilates Classes?

One of the most frequent questions I get from people when they are starting Pilates is, should I start with Private or Group classes?  It’s a great question - here are some things to think about when you are making your decision.

Cost, private lessons are more expensive than classes so if you are working on a tight budget then you may want to try the group class option.

Scheduling, does the group class you want to take fit into your schedule?  Private instruction is nice for some because it is so flexible.

Current Fitness Level, lastly consider your current fitness level and what your goals are.  Group lessons are a great workout but they are tailored to the group not the individual.  Private Instruction might be for you especially if you are recovering from an injury.

Once you feel comfortable in the studio, whether you are taking group or private classes consider mixing in whichever you are not doing once in a while.  The private client can benefit from the faster pace of the classes and the group class client can benefit from individual attention of a private once in a while!
